CULLMAN – A little good news from the Cullman County Animal Shelter to kick things off: recently shared “Amelia Er” has been “hired” as an emotional support and therapy dog, and feline friend Moggie has been adopted too!

Shelter volunteer Donna Ruttkay introduces the Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week:

Bella is a one-year-old Heinz 57 with a fair dose of Dachshund. She’s a laid-back low to medium energy pet who’s got “therapy/companion/emotional support” written all over her. Like close friends? Bella’s a cuddler! Ruttkay says that she “cherishes sitting in your lap, like forever!”

Animal shelter staff and volunteers work with their dogs to make sure they are accustomed to being around people, walking on a leash and practicing good behavior.  Several of the shelter’s dogs have even been “hired” to work as therapy and special needs service dogs.

Discount doggie!

Bella had already been spayed when she was brought to the shelter, so her adoption fee will be drastically discounted. Check with the shelter for more information.

Please consider adopting to give a rescued pet a chance at a happy and healthy life.
